Most (if not all) mods shown in this article are compatible with the DLC, letting you play seamlessly with your friends, or use weapons from the Realm of Shadow just by starting the game.
13 Seamless Co-Op
Beat Bosses And Rest Without Losing Connection
There is co-op in Elden Ring, but to say it's without headaches would be an exaggeration. It requires the usage of consumable items, it restricts your ability to use Torrent, and once you and your partner defeat a boss, you're separated once more. This means playing with a friend takes a lot of frequent hoops to jump through.
The Seamless Co-Op mod takes all of these issues out. It's not without its bugs, but the end result is really worth it. You and a friend can hop on Torrent, explore every corner of The Lands Between, and tackle as many bosses as you want.

Numerous changes in this mod slightly change Elden Ring to make it an even more special experience. You can re-challenge bosses at the Roundtable Hold, the camera is much more dynamic and keeps the interesting stuff in view, and even the hitboxes are reworked, so you never have another one of those "How did that not hit him?" moments.
9 Pause The Game
We All Need A Break
One of the mainstays in Souls games is the lack of a pause button. When you flip to the menus, the game will keep running regardless. While this is done because the games are meant to be online as well as not allowing the player to scum their way through any encounter, it can be extremely annoying at times.
Unless you have a play session where you're alone, there will be a time when you need to pause. Thankfully, the Pause the Game mod is here to save the day. It does exactly what the title says: allows you to temporarily stop the action, so you can answer the door or throw your clothes in the dryer.

Did you feel like Elden Ring wasn't hard enough and that it was the easiest entry in FromSoftware's lineup? If so, one modder agreed, leading to the creation of Elden Ring Ascended. This mod brings you the ultimate challenge in The Lands Between. There are three different modes to choose from: Normal, Nightmare, and Age of Stars.
If the link doesn't work, try again in a few days; the modder is constantly updating it so it works well with the latest patch.
Every mode will add 50% more status damage from enemies, but the harder ones add new bosses, increase the enemy count, and give you permanent debuffs throughout your adventure. Very few players have managed to complete this mod. Are you up to it?
5 Performance Boost

Arguably, the only major issue with Elden Ring is its performance. Next-gen consoles and PCs all had a problem getting a consistent 60fps. Only the strongest of computers or running the PS4 version on a PS5 will get you steady performance.

4 Elden Lords Army of Summons
More Friends To Aid You
Summoning spirits was a new addition to Elden Ring. Apart from summoning placed NPCs, online buddies, and spirit ashes, you can only take this mechanic so far. That's where the Elden Lords Army of Summons mod comes in.
This mod adds a whopping 187 new summons to the game, ranging from bosses, custom NPCs, enemies, and even Guts from Berserk. Experimenting with this will take you hours, and the payoff is well worth it.
3 Easy Mode
Difficulty Isn't For Everyone
Elden Ring is a fantastic game, and not just due to its difficult encounters. The story, level design, and areas to explore are all worth the price of entry, although the difficulty of the challenges you encounter are not for everyone.
If all you want to do is reach the end credits (and the Spirit Summons are not helping you enough), you can always lower the difficulty of the game. Of course, Elden Ring doesn't naturally come with difficulty modes, but the mod Easy Mode solves that for you, being a customizable setting that lets you make the game as easy as you want it to be.
2 Glorious Merchant
Access Items Immediately
There are plenty of times in an Elden Ring playthrough when you might find a new weapon with an incredible moveset, but you have already committed your entire build to what you are already carrying. This happens even more often in the DLC, making players wish there was a way to start the game with those items already available.
This is where the Glorious Merchant comes in, giving you instant access to all items in the game, and letting you make any build you wish. While you can always respec your character with Rennala, it isn't the same as starting at a low level with the Dryleaf moveset already unlocked.
1 Companion Spirits
A Buffed Version Of Basic Spirit Ashes
Adding new summons is all well and good, but maybe you don't want to completely break the game, and instead, you just want more time to enjoy the Spirits already included. Companion Spirits lets you fulfill that Ranger Companion archetype, since you can now summon any Spirit Ashes without limit, and they even gain energy regeneration.
The mode also removes the blue effect the creatures have, giving the feel that you are really summoning a trio of wolves, for example. There is a version of the mod included with blue shading, in case you need extra clarity during combat.
